Apple Might Be Working On ‘Multiple New External Monitors’ With Silicon Chip

Soon, Apple fans could choose from a range of external displays specially designed for Mac and the iPad, as the technology giant gears up to expand its lineup. Reports have emerged that the firm is working on “multiple new external monitors” that will be equipped with the Apple Silicon chip. 

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, multiple variations of these new external monitors are currently in development, one of which will be an upgrade of the Pro Display XDR, which is slated to be released after the new Mac Pro hits the shelves next year. 

Previously, 9to5Mac noted that Apple was rumored to be developing a 7K resolution display. The current Pro Display XDR features a 32-inch 6K (6016 x 3384) panel at 218 pixels per inch, whereas the 7K external monitor may have higher pixel density with the same size screen, or keep the same 218 PPI on a larger 36-inch panel.  

Interestingly, it appears Apple’s latest Silicon chip will also be incorporated into these forthcoming external displays, so that the displays will “rely less” on the connected computer.

Specific details on the new monitors or their price points have yet to be revealed, but do keep your eyes peeled for more information on the potential new lineup.
