Apart from the glory that comes with winning soccer’s most coveted prize, there’s one other thing that’s a pretty perk: the FIFA World Cup Trophy. And this year, the Argentinian squad got to take home with them the iconic gold sculpture housed in a special Louis Vuitton trunk.
The luxury fashion label collaborated with FIFA for the fourth time to create the one-of-a-kind box that delivered the award, featuring a stunning titanium build to protect the 18-carat gold and malachite trophy.
According to Hypebeast, this year’s trunk was custom-made by the brand’s craftspeople at its Asnières atelier in north-central France, adorned with the Maison’s signature monogram pattern accented with sparkling silver-colored hardware.
In classic Louis Vuitton style, the design was completed with striking brown leather paraments and corner shields, not forgetting the debossed brand label attached to the base of the black pedestal within the trunk’s confines.
As the fashion house puts it, the trophy trunk is undoubtedly “a gracious and intelligent means of transporting and displaying football’s greatest prize,” and it continues the company’s 160-year association with legends from royalty to writers, explorers, and the pinnacle of soccer.
