Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Comes Alive In Animation While You Spar With Nemeses

The satisfying clickety-clack from mechanical keyboards has sparked a whole sub-genre in the gaming community, with people in search of either the best-sounding keys out there or the most artistic set.

 
Finalmouse, a company specializing in lightweight mouse production, is taking it one step further by placing a whole screen under the keys where users can watch interactive or still skins in its latest creation, Centerpiece.

This crazy new keyboard will have any connoisseur looking over in wonder and envy as just about any scene plays right below the keys. In a six-minute long teaser video from the company, some include a serene koi pond where the fish quickly scamper away when a key is pressed, a rocket blasting into the sky, a lion running through the jungle, and a whole lot more.
 
The company did not state what display technology it uses, but we know that Centerpiece can host these videos as it houses its CPU and GPU.

These interactive displays are also hosted by Unreal Engine 5, so you know you’re in for some immersive scenes. Additionally, the brand invites creators to upload their creations onto the new Finalmouse Steam App, where they can monetize their work or offer it up for free.
 
The keyboard is easily attached to any hardware using a USB-C cable and will not rely on the PC’s graphics to run.
 
Finalmouse partnered with key switch provider Gateron to achieve a sound similar to “soft marble raindrops” if you were curious about the sound.
 
The Centerpiece is slated to launch early next year for a cool US$349.
