New Website Reveals Salaries That Top 700 Tech Companies Are Paying Out

If you’ve been curious about where your salary stands against industry peers, a new website lets you find out by compiling how much jobs at 700 leading tech companies and startups are being paid.

Comprehensive.io just launched on Thursday, following pay transparency laws introduced in states like California and New York City that require companies to list salary ranges in their job advertisements. The regulations have made it easy for Roger Lee, the site’s creator and co-founder of compensation software startup Comprehensive, to aggregate and compare income ranges within those states.

The website is a follow-up of sorts to Lee’s Layoffs.fyi site, launched in 2020 to track the wave of dismissals amid the pandemic. As financial strains loom, tech layoffs remain on the rise, making these tools more relevant than ever.

Comprehensive.io combs the hiring pages of tech companies daily to obtain job positions and salary ranges that are accurate to the day.

Job-seekers can filter wages to their relevant titles and discover the average pay range, which could help them negotiate their pay at their next interview. They can also find out where they could be earning the most money.

At the time of publication, the site shows that a senior UI artist at Netflix who is working remotely can make between US$50,000 to US$600,000 a year, while a Meta concept artist can fetch between US$127,000 and US$178,000. A graphic designer at Uber can reap a salary in the neighborhood of US$105,000 to US$117,000.

Lee says Comprehensive.io arrives just as “hundreds of thousands” of tech workers are losing their jobs, and he hopes it can help them overcome these changes while demanding for fair compensation.

For now, Comprehensive.io only aggregates pay from California and NYC companies, but this should evolve over time.
