Truly Wireless TV Sticks Itself To Your Wall With Just Two Adhesive Strips
San Diego in-home entertainment startup Displace steps outside of the packaging box with its latest offering, a fully wireless TV you can easily stick onto your wall.
So if it has removed all of its wires, how does it get powered up, you ask? The answer is four battery packs within the device that keep it juiced up. Each battery can last up to a month, after which it will need to be swapped out and charged in its dock.
Obviously, that’s not the only shining feature of this television, which was presented at CES 2023. Unlike more traditional units that need a bracket and a mount to be attached to a wall, Displace’s version can suction itself to just about any surface. The company refers to this as Active Loop Vacuum technology, two adhesive strips that attach the TV to any surface.
According to ZDNET, CEO Balaji Krishnan states that the Active Loop Vacuum will reinforce itself periodically and keep the display mounted for good.
Now, that’s not all Displace has up its sleeve. The unit is also highly customizable, and you can stack a few screens together to create an even bigger version of itself. You can easily do this as it comes with a gap to slip your hands into for transport.
Furthermore, a tiny camera attached to the top allows the viewer to use their hands as a remote. With just a wave of your hand, you can swipe between different functions on the television.
All in all, not only will you not have nasty drill holes ruining your wall from now on, but you won’t have to worry about losing the remote again.
For its specs, it employs a 55-inch LG 4K OLED panel. And as it comes sans wires, all content will be streamed through apps instead.
The television is estimated to be ready in late 2023 for US$2,299 per unit.
