Pickup Truck Concept Trails Behind You When You Walk, Even Screens Movies

Pickup trucks usually serve a few basic purposes, such as getting heavy cargo from one point to the next. They’re handy, sturdy, and reliable vehicles that do the job efficiently. 
 
With that in mind, Ram, a giant in the pickup truck industry in America, is enabling its new concept vehicle with everything you could ask for from a truck and more.

Aptly named the Ram 1500 Revolution, this concept vehicle is more than just something to transport your goods in—it can also act as a personal assistant of sorts.

Firstly, the Revolution can follow you like a giant electric “dog,” trailing slowly behind you, so you are never too far from all your belongings. This works via a proposed ‘Shadow’ mode, an autonomous driving feature that allows you to, in a way, “walk” your car.

The mode is voice-activated, so you can call out to it and watch it come running—or slowly driving—up to you. In addition, the Revolution uses sensors and cameras around its body to ensure that it will not run into other people or obstacles.
 
Suppose a self-driving voice-activated car isn’t impressive enough. In that case, it can also use its camera and assistive features for facial recognition to unlock the vehicle, close the windows, select music, and even take your picture all with its AI assistant.

Then, once you’re comfortably seated in the cabin, you can have it plan out your day for you so that you get to each location on time.
 
Next, the car comes equipped with external projectors. This can turn virtually anywhere into your private movie drive-in. And for professional constructors and architects, the projector can cast blueprints onto a larger surface for better visualization.

If you’re planning to use the vehicle to transport goods, as pickups are meant to do, you can utilize its accompanying scanner which can read barcodes of items and measure their dimensions. Then, through a dedicated app, the system will alert you on the best way to load the item into your truck.

Of course, no futuristic vehicle will be complete without a beefed-up infotainment system and cabin. The Revolution hosts a 28-inch screen with a 14.2-inch removal bottom that can be turned into a tablet or a video game controller. On top of that, you can also set different moods in its interior, from space themed to underwater animations.
