‘Audio Earrings’ Let You Proudly Face The Music When You’re Feeling Underdressed

Wish your life were a music video and you played its beautiful lead? Consider plugging in these pieces of ear candy, which double as both audio gadgets and jewelry.
The Nova H1 Audio Earrings, unveiled at CES 2023, are just as functional as they are fancy and fashionable. They’re post earrings with real freshwater pearls that store the brand’s patented ‘Directional Sound’ technology, which draws from “acoustical volumes” within the gemstone and funnels sound straight into the ear canal. Sounds like an earful, but all this prevents your music from escaping into the surroundings.
Since these are earrings, the practical adornments aren’t worn inside the ear, hence the need for the proprietary sound channeling. The Audio Earrings can be worn as regular studs or earcuffs. You also have the choice of studs, for pierced ears; or clip-ons, for users with no piercing holes.
Each side holds a gold-plated or silver-plated clip that works as a button to adjust music or take calls. The earrings are also compatible with Bluetooth 5.2 so you can sync them to an iOS or Android device.
It seems that the metallic finish you choose matters. The gold version promises 3.5 hours of playback time, and an extra 14 hours with its charging case. Meanwhile, the silver variant is slightly more enduring, yielding up to four hours of playback and an additional 16 hours with the holder.
Elsewhere, the earbuds are also built in with low-energy speakers and four microphones.
An added bonus that may be music to the ears of those who love accessorizing: The upbeat earrings can be worn as standalones. On a utilitarian front, that means their batteries are easily swappable.
The Audio Earrings are priced to the tune of €595 (US$642) for the silver variation and €695 (US$749) for the gold.
