Carhartt Turns Up The Heat With Vest That Controls Its Temperature For Comfort

Carhartt, an outerwear staple in the closets of handypersons and fashion-forward folks, wants to eliminate the winter blues with a vest that taps into artificial intelligence to keep you warm.

 
Staying comfortable in the winter when you’re out and about can sometimes be a game of guessing the weather and piling on loads of layers and shedding them as you go about your day. Addressing these pain points, the ‘X-1 Smart Heated Vest’ is decked out in a ‘clim8’ thermal technology for wearers to determine the exact temperature they want their clothes to take on.

The vest has three heating zones, two on the chest and one on the back. Once set to the user’s desired temperature, it will automatically and safely activate the heated areas.
 
On top of that, it can monitor the temperature in real-time, regulate warmth, and analyze a wearer’s environment and activity.

Carhartt has also streamlined the clothing design by opting for a vest instead of a jacket to cut down on bulky layers.
