PANTONE Predicts Invigorating Colors To Splash Runways In Fall/Winter 2023–2024

PANTONE has named the first colors to go big in 2024, though you’ll see them on the catwalk as early as this year.

The color authority has released its trend forecast for New York Fashion Week in Fall/Winter 2023/2024, predicting themes that will accentuate apparel for the upcoming seasons. PANTONE believes the colder months will be immersed in “a new reality,” and that designers and fashion lovers alike will want to explore beyond physical constraints to express joy and creativity.

10 standout hues including peach, reds, and a blue embodying the rare lapis lazuli stone are some of the colors to look out for on the runway. Also in the mix is ‘Viva Magenta’, PANTONE’s 2023 Color of the Year.

Since fashion is all about experimentation, PANTONE has also picked five neutral tones—dubbed ‘New Classics’—to make coordination more of a breeze.

 “Colors for NYFW Autumn/Winter 2023/2024 reach out beyond what we think is possible to catapult us into this new era, taking us to a place where boundaries of time, place, and identity are no longer fixed,” describes Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the PANTONE Color Institute.

“A friendly mix of joyful tones and traditional shades recontextualized with a modern edge, colors for NYFW Autumn/Winter 2023/2024 express a step up in tempo,” Eiseman elaborates. “Serving as a vehicle for vitality and enthusiasm, this season’s colors bring about limitless self-expression and encourage us to awake and enjoy the autumn/winter season.”
