Every time a new president gets elected into the White House, there undoubtedly comes news of how the incoming chief of state plans to redecorate the Oval Office—arguably the most powerful room in the entire United States.

When President Joe Biden first took his seat in 2020, he decided to make several changes to the iconic space, including hanging up portraits of previous leaders, adding a royal blue rug, and most famously, removing the Diet Coke button from the previous regime.

Of course, if you’re running the country, you’ll get the privilege of working with the top interior designers in the business to customize your workspace. But what if the Oval Office was designed by some of the most popular home interior brands on the market?

That’s what HouseFresh envisioned when it came up with six versions of the space, each featuring furniture choices and design details from iconic home stores in the nation—IKEA, Pottery Barn, Urban Outfitters, CB2, Anthropologie, and The Restoration Hardware.

Swedish furniture chain IKEA proved to be the most economical choice of the bunch, with the entire room decorated using just US$4,524. Next came Urban Outfitters at US$12,568, followed by CB2 at US$18,022, Anthropologie at US$25,016, Pottery Barn at US$26,694, and The Restoration Hardware by far the most expensive at US$74,234.

While it may be unlikely any of us will be redesigning the Oval Office anytime soon, perhaps these creative reimaginations of the space will serve as inspiration for your next home makeover project.
