Cube Tower Taking Shape In Saudi Skyline Will Have Holographic Interiors

Saudia Arabia has revealed yet another ambitious architectural project to revitalize its tourism and culture sectors.
 
Meet ‘The Mukaab’, an enormous cuboid structure set to be the centerpiece of a larger development in downtown Riyadh called ‘New Murabba’.
 
At its tallest, the building will reach a height of 1,312 ft, which might not break the record for the tallest structure, but it is certainly large. It will cover 0.77 square miles, which Saudi Government’s Public Investment Fund estimates are enough space for 20 Empire State buildings.
 
Its exterior takes inspiration from traditional Islamic architecture and scripture. But what really catches the eye is what’s hidden inside.

Within the box is a spiraling tower that is encased within the Mukaab. Visitors will be treated to retail, cultural, and tourist experiences here. Outside of this, it will also host 9,000 hotel rooms and 100,000 residential units. There will also be a university and a new museum within its grounds.
 
What’s more, the Mukaab’s interior walls will feature holographic scenes to transport the twisting tower and its occupants to anywhere from far-off futuristic lands to the depths of the ocean.

The estimated date of the Mukaab’s arrival is aimed for 2030, around when The Line will also be ready.
