The legacy of the wildly successful Got Milk? campaign will live on until the cows come home. But the next generation of stars are stirring things up… with oats.
Brooklyn Beckham, Ella Travolta, and Sailor Brinkley Cook are sporting plant-based milk mustaches, honoring the legen-dairy activation once fronted by their respective parents David Beckham, Kelly Preston, and Christie Brinkley, in hopes to inspire a new age of milk drinkers.
The young, influential figures are among the new faces of Silk Nextmilk’s advertising campaign set to splash across social media and billboards in New York, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas.
Silk Nextmilk is developed to taste like dairy, despite being made from plant sources, while containing 75% less sugar. The product is also lactose-free, is Non-GMO Project Verified, and has 25% fewer calories than whole dairy milk.
The shoot includes DJ Myles O’Neal, the son of Shaquille O'Neal, who is also joined by his siblings Shareef, Me’Arah, Shaqir, and Amirah.
Cook, who was raised by her mother Christie Brinkley to be vegetarian, tells People Magazine that she was excited to be involved in something that would make her mom proud.
David Kolbusz, chief creative officer at creative agency Orchard, the firm behind the project, tells Ad Age that the team was surprised by the number of talents who were interested in being a part of the campaign, as they had imagined only one or two names would be on board. Even “Ella Travolta’s dad” came on set to help out behind the scenes, Kolbusz recounts.
With how competitive the plant milk market has grown, Orchard wanted to create an iconic initiative for Silk Nextmilk, which happens to taste like cow’s milk, and launch it into the next generation.
Fans can be a part of this campaign too through a new Silk plant-based mustache filter on TikTok, where posting with the lens puts them in the running to win a year’s supply of free Silk Nextmilk, as well as the possibility of being featured in a billboard in Times Square.
