Amazon Brings Audio Streaming Directly Into Cochlear Hearing Implants

Amazon and medical device company Cochlear have found a way to make entertainment more accessible to everyone by streaming audio from a Fire TV device directly into hearing implants.
 
The Audio Streaming for Hearing Aids (ASHA) will seek to make listening experiences more comfortable and natural for those with hearing loss. Not only will it stream audio from shows, but also music, navigational sounds, and more from Alexa without echoes to disrupt them from hearing.
 
With streaming services overrunning the entertainment sector, often left in the dust are those with disabilities who are sometimes not catered to in a way that suits their needs. 

This could herald a new era where innovative ways are explored to ensure people from all walks of life enjoy all media types. 
 
The new system will work for the Fire TV Omni Series, Fire TV Omni QLED, Fire TV 4-Series, Fire TV Cube (2nd Gen), and Fire TV Cube (3rd Gen). These streams directly to the Cochlear Nucleus 8, Nucleus 7, Nucleus Kanso 2, and Baha 6 Max sound processors
 
For those looking to set the feature up, you can find it in the accessibility section of the settings menu on your devices. The ASHA system works with implants within 10 feet of the Fire TV.
