If you’re a frequent flyer or suffer from varicose veins, you might be familiar with compression socks and their uses. For one, they keep blood circulating down your legs, preventing them from feeling achy or swollen. A new type of sleeve from tech company Therabody has amped up its abilities by adding a vibrating option to get a massage on the go.
The ‘RecoveryPulse’ comes in two types of sleeves, one for your calf and one for your arms. All you need to do is slip it on where you need it and activate it by turning its little control panel on.
There are three settings in total that users can cycle through depending on what they need. The first is ‘Low’, used for general recovery and pain relief. The ‘High’ speed is used for warm-up and exercise recovery, while ‘Wave’ flows between the first two options in a pattern to help stimulate the nervous system.
You can even use them in place of a massage gun after a workout, as they provide 45 minutes of relief thanks to their battery pack. Once you’re done with them, you can chuck them in the washing machine (after removing their battery packs) and have them ready for your next workout session.
The leg sleeve option is ready for sale on Therabody’s website for US$149. However, the arm sleeve will only be available later in the year.
