AR Ski Goggles Let You Answer Calls While You Hit The Slopes

Say you’re on a ski trip. You’ve got your gear, you’re all decked out, and a whole mountain of fresh powder is waiting for you. You’re ready to feel that cool icy air hit you, and all you’re missing are a pair of augmented-reality goggles.

Ostloong’s Sirius Outdoor AR Goggles are a new tool that helps skiers and snowboarders experience the sport in a whole new way. The full-color display adds another layer of immersion as you can view all your notifications, information about the slope you’re on, and other important details in your field of vision.

The headset has a built-in camera that lets you take photos and videos and share them with others. That being said, if those in your group are also using the Sirius, you can easily communicate with them through it, and their names will even pop up over them on your display, so you can always tell who’s with you under all their gear.

With artificial intelligence incorporated into it, it can predict certain functions for its wearer, providing an immersive near-eye experience.

If you’re wondering if such a thing is safe when you’re zipping down the mountain, the company claims that the goggles act as an extra safety net for users as they give them the option to view directions, windspeed, compass points, the speed at which you’re moving, and the weather. Of course, they’re a pretty cool way for you to call for help should things go awry, but hopefully, with the aid of the device, you’ll be able to get through each session safe and sound.

The Sirius goggles are now available in two different models, Standard and Pro, and are going for US$650 and US$1,100, respectively.
