Luxury Accessory Brand Sparks A Current Of Style With E-Waste Jewelry

While circuit boards, wires, flash drives, and charging plugs may not typically be considered fashionable accessories to pair with a cocktail dress for a night out, Oushaba has found a way to transform these items into glamorous pieces that are sure to catch the eye and pique the interest of any onlooker.
 
‘Connection Salvaged’ is reimagining the life of electronic waste after it has been disposed of, by redirecting it away from junkyards and onto the necks and wrists of tech-savvy fashion fanatics.

The lineup comprises 38 pieces and incorporates elements of recycled 22k yellow gold and 18k white gold or sterling silver. In addition, the necklaces, earrings, rings, and bracelets are dotted with sustainably-sourced precious gems such as diamonds, emeralds, sapphires, and rubies.

 
Oushaba then refurbishes old circuit boards, USB sticks, plugs, and cables into what looks like ancient Egyptian, Greek, and Roman-inspired jewelry with a highly futuristic twist. 

In speaking to WWD, co-founder Gillian Carr mentioned how the collection is meant to challenge people’s ideas of what is waste and what is a luxury. According to the brand, tech components have a jewel-like quality that can and has made for stunning pieces.
