Tesla’s Cybertruck Video Confuses Internet Over Crash Test That Never Happens
As fans eagerly await the day Tesla’s Cybertruck will finally appear on public roads, the automaker recently posted a clip of the vehicle’s crash test on its Twitter account, showing the car driving past a group of surprised spectators.
In the 37-second shot, anticipation builds as wide-mouthed viewers watch the car hurtle towards the crash site, only to just stop short of the obstruction. Yup, the actual crash—essential to any crash test—does not occur in the video.
Naturally, this head-scratcher has set social media alight, with many poking fun at the fact that just like the truck itself, the crash has yet to happen. Some noted that it could’ve been an April Fool’s joke from the brand, as it was released on April 1.

Tesla Chief Elon Musk responded to the buzz with an equally cryptic tweet, asking fans to “wait for it” in a quote retweet of the video in question. Officially, the company is scheduled to begin deliveries of the Cybertruck at the end of the year.
