‘Tentsla’ Converts Your Tesla Into A Glamping Site You Can Drive Anywhere

Most people have been actively avoiding living in their car. Not Tesla drivers, apparently. A group of them have developed the ‘Tentsla’, a tent designed specifically for the electric vehicles so users can seamlessly unwind off the grid.
The attachable car-camping system features pole-supported awnings to take your vacations to the great outdoors. It’s built to withstand the elements all year, with sturdy water- and weather-resistant fabric, and double-layered fly and window material to keep the rain and mosquitoes out.

“It’s like Elon Musk himself created a cozy little haven for you and your Tesla,” Tentsla’s engineers tease.
Much of Tentsla’s design relies on the automaker’s new ‘Camp Mode’, which keeps to a cozy temperature and maintains airflow for undisrupted sleep through the night. Tesla’s Camp Mode also accommodates glampers’ need for entertainment with an arcade, music player, web browser, and ‘Tesla Theater’ accessible on the touchscreen.

With ambience and boredom control settled, Tentsla focuses on the backbone of the outdoor experience. The tent hooks onto the trunk of the Tesla Model Y via an air tube, which blows climate-controlled air into the Tentsla and simultaneously holds its form overnight.
The Tesla-friendly tent also endeavors to make camping life more painless, and can be set up in just five minutes. You can inflate it by pushing onto a manual pump about 100 times, or opt for an electric pump to speed things along.
Lastly, the tent packs neatly into a duffel to be fitted into the Model Y trunk.
Although it is still in the Kickstarter mode, the Tentsla was funded in just an hour. It will go on sale for an expected retail price of US$1,299.
