Going green isn’t the same thing as going clean, as the Canadian branch of Walmart and its customers have found out.

The retailer has taken down a questionable T-shirt with a seemingly well-intended message after shoppers spotted a profanity laced into the graphic.

The green tee, labeled under a brand called George and sold for CA$5 (US$3.72), spelled out the words “Cycle,” “Use,” “New,” and “Think.” Consumers connected the dots vertically and picked up a fifth, rude word.

Unsurprisingly, a photo of the garment has since gone viral on Twitter, prompting the big-box brand to remove the product.

A spokesperson for Walmart has defended that the tagline was unintentional, and they tell the Independent that the shirt was only sold in the Canadian stores.

As per the report, however, the same design can be purchased in ASDA supermarkets in the UK.

The shirt is also available in 10 colors on Amazon, where the item is described as an “environmental activism” tee.
