‘The Mandalorian’s Grogu Causes Mischief When You Activate Google Easter Egg

Although Grogu, colloquially known as ‘Baby Yoda’, is 50 years old, that makes him a child in his species. This means he still exhibits toddler-like behavior like freely pushing buttons he’s not supposed to touch, and stealing a snack without adult supervision.

With the release of season three of The Mandalorian on Disney+, Google is letting the child be a child in a humorous but chaotic Easter egg located in the search tool (Google, Grogu, Google, Grogu—say that five times).

It is pretty easy to summon Baby Yoda on Google, and you don’t even need to tempt him with soup or US$50 macarons. As Mashable discovers, the creature appears on the lower right-hand corner of the screen when you look up “Grogu.” Click on him and he raises his little arm, wreaking havoc on the search results.

The Easter egg, accessible on desktop and mobile platforms, can also be triggered when you search “The Mandalorian” or “The Mandalorian child.” But not “Baby Yoda,” because that’s not his name, sadly.

Each query triggers a slightly different reaction, but in all of them, Grogu channels all of The Force from his tiny form to flip text and cards upside down.

You can, however, discourage this behavior by clicking on the ‘X’ on the left side of the screen. This makes Grogu disappear, allowing you to browse the search results page as per usual.
