Balmain Teams Up With Evian On Ready-To-Wear Collection To Spotlight Eco Fashion

Last year, luxury label Balmain partnered with bottled water brand Evian on a limited-edition glass bottle. Now, the two have reunited for the next phase of the collaboration: an eco-friendly capsule collection pointing toward an era of sustainable fashion.

The ready-to-wear garments, which feature classic sportswear silhouettes in soft, pastel shades often seen on Balmain runways, were created using environmentally friendly practices, materials, and innovations to bring forth a single message of “together, change is beautiful.”

To push the boundaries of sustainable fashion, Creative Director Olivier Rousteing worked to incorporate a variety of special materials in the collection, including GOTS-certified organic cotton, FSC-certified viscose, and several other GRS-certified recycled materials.

Fans can choose from an extensive offering, ranging from swimsuits to t-shirts, hoodies, bomber jackets, trucker jackets, and jeans. The eco-friendly message extends even to the items’ packaging, using recycled hangers and sustainably-managed pulp wrappers.

“There’s just so much more that all of us in the fashion world should be doing now. We need to test and perfect new techniques in sourcing, recycling, upcycling, sustainably producing—and yes, I know, the list can sometimes seem endless,” remarked Rousteing.

“Luckily, Evian shares Balmain’s dedication to searching for new possibilities. And with this second Balmain x Evian capsule, we aim to make very clear that conscience and creativity can actually work together quite well,” he concluded.
