Hellmann’s Slips Mayonnaise Into McDonald’s Condiments With Sneaky ‘McHack’

Mayonnaise isn’t invited to McDonald’s club of condiments, and it’s now plotting to get on the guest list.
Ketchup, barbecue, smoky BBQ, sweet and sour, and even sour cream and chive are some of the sauces you can dip a fry into at the Golden Arches in the UK. Glaringly missing from the list is mayo, and Hellmann’s plans to change this.
Luckily, the brand has found a workaround that lets you order a serving of mayonnaise. It calls this the ‘Mayo McHack’.

The Mayo McHack works this way: You order a Mayo Chicken burger, but customize it to exclude the chicken, bun, and lettuce. This leaves you with just the sauce to pair with your fries, which makes for “the happiest meal of all,” claims Hellmann’s.
The company is so proud of its secret-menu idea, that it has taken out full pages on newspapers to spread the hack around.

Besides finally having mayo as a dippable option at the fast-food chain, customers might also be eligible for a £1.19 refund if they post a photo of their 100% mayonnaise non-sandwiches with the #MayoMcHack hashtag. Hellmann’s is issuing digital vouchers to 1,000 patrons who are up for this deal.

Christina Bauer-Plank, global VP of Hellmann’s and Dressings at Unilever, expresses that although fries and mayonnaise are a delectable pairing, and that “there’s a legion of mayo lovers in the UK… McDonald’s UK doesn’t offer mayo as a dip.”
“We’re here for all fellow mayo lovers and wanted to help bring mayo and fries together, as they should be!”
