Hendrick’s Gin Launches Interactive ‘Chat G&T’ Bot Run By Alcohol-Fueled Human

Looks like alcohol label Hendrick’s Gin is hopping on the artificial intelligence bandwagon, with the brand unveiling its own version of OpenAI’s popular chatbot—cleverly dubbed ‘Chat G&T’ after its famed gin.

Unlike the AI-generated answers offered up by the usual chatbots, this particular one was powered by a human in the form of Elliot, a “five-year university student” who has “diverse life experiences and a fair amount of uncharted traveling.”

Of course, there’s gin involved. Elliot replied to fans’ queries while sipping on a Hendrick’s & Tonic in his home library until he became too tired or peckish to continue with the conversation.

Funnily enough, instead of turning to the vast amount of information available on the internet to tackle difficult questions, the brand noted that the man behind the screen searched for answers in a dictionary, or turn to his “brainy” sister, Helen.

Hendrick’s told Gin Raiders it wanted to offer customers a human alternative to the ever-increasing number of AI chatbots in the market. After all, talking to a machine-learning algorithm while tipsy may not be the most fun.
