Apple CarPlay users who are hungry for Domino’s Pizza can now get home faster.
Fans of the pizza joint can now download a Domino’s app straight on their CarPlay homepage, allowing them to either “Tap to Order” or “Call to Order”—straight from the comforts of the driver’s seat.
The first option has customers enter a pre-selected “Easy Order”, which consists of their saved favorites and removes the need to go through different in-app options while driving. They can also opt for their most recent order if they wish. That said, there is no way to choose toppings—probably to prevent hungry drivers from getting distracted on the roads.
“Call to Order” places customers on the phone with a customer service representative who will then take them through the next few steps via a call.
“We know how frustrating it can be to wait in a drive-thru line just to place an order. Domino’s app on CarPlay is a great alternative to that, as customers still have the convenience of staying in their car,” notes Christopher Thomas-Moore, Domino’s senior vice president and chief digital officer. The company claims it is the first major pizza chain to integrate with CarPlay as it pushes further into the technology sector. It also allows customers to order food via their Apple Watch by texting an emoji.
So whether you’re rushing home from work or picking the kids up from school, it’s comforting to know that dinner is on its way, too.
