Think of Celine and its creative director, Hedi Slimane, and you’ll think of Saint-Tropez. The idyllic destination, situated in the French Rivera, encompasses much of the luxury brand’s identity, harkening back to the good ol’ days of silver screen stars and timeless classics.
And what better way to get around the picturesque region than in a custom, one-of-one vintage mini Moke? That’s now possible, as Slimane recently collaborated with the historic automaker as part of its La Collection de Saint-Tropez launch.
Doused in a glossy khaki hue, the open-air car is a blast from the past, with its refurbished wheels and unique wooden steering wheel, re-upholstered canvas hood, and dashboard centered around the House’s iconic Triomphe motif.
In addition, natural wicker seats sit in the place of usual polyester chairs, while untreated leather accents feature throughout the vehicle in a subtle nod to luxury. Even the gear stalk, dials, and LED-ring headlights are Celine branded—so everyone knows just who made the car.
