A Single Electric Tile Juices Up Your Bike Through Its Kickstand

As electric vehicles become rampant, people must relearn how to juice up their transportation. Of course, the main way to get power into your electric bicycles or cars is through a battery system that you can hook your ride up to.
 
A startup company called Tiler is streamlining clunky chargers, removing all wires and adapters that one might carry around, and placing everything into a sleek tile.

Riders can easily park their bikes on top of the tile and push down their kickstands onto a port, where power will be sent up through it. Although, this does mean that bicycle kickstands will have to employ a special type for them to work. The company’s website notes that charging will be universal, and one of its Charging Kickstands can fit all types of e-bikes.
 
Tiler is not only gunning to keep your garage mess-free but is also looking to be a more straightforward solution for e-bike owners who need a little juice through their day. The tile can easily be placed almost anywhere, including public spaces where it will not take up space.

The idea for Tiler first came about after co-founder Christiaan van Nispen worked on charging poles for EVs out in California. He noticed the increasing number of abandoned share e-bikes and a lack of accessible charging sites for them. So after heading back to the Netherlands, Tiler was born.
 
According to Dealerscope, the tiles are currently spreading through Europe and might soon be found in the US as well.
