Elon Musk’s Boring Company To Expand Las Vegas Loop By Almost 20 New Stations

Clark County has just approved the Boring Company’s (TBC) plans to add 18 stations to its Vegas Loop that runs under the city of Las Vegas. The tunnel is an underground highway meant to ease congestion on the roads and shuttle people via Tesla vehicles.
 
Currently, the tunnel is 2.2 miles long and has five stops. The new expansion will increase that by 25 miles, leading it into the Las Vegas Strip corridor.
 
In March, TBC submitted a proposal to expand the transport system by 65 miles of tunnels to aid citizens in reaching more casinos, retail areas, residential spots, and the University of Nevada Las Vegas. According to TechCrunch, the company has just passed one million passengers, with a peak of 32,000 users in one day.

The new plan was presented to the board in Clark County, where it won in a vote of 6-1. The only person to oppose the project was Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick, who was concerned that the Loop did not have any long-term goals in aiding employees of resorts and casinos to travel into the city for work.
 
Once the tunnel has finished construction, the new stations will reach areas such as Las Vegas Boulevard, Chinatown, Town Square Las Vegas, and Harmon Square.
 
In the same report, it was estimated that a 4.9-mile journey between the airport and the Las Vegas Convention Center would take around five minutes and cost US$10.
