Amazon’s Alexa Can Now Alert You To Where Your Uber Eats Order Is

Too busy to track when that Thai eatery from downtown delivers your dinner? Amazon’s Alexa can now blurt out alerts as you do your own thing.
 
The new feature is already ready for use in the US, and will be coming to all Echo devices. In order to get started, you have to first go to the ‘Voice Assistant’ setting on the Uber Eats app, and toggle on the ‘Track with Alexa’ button. Then, you will have to check on the Alexa tracking once again at checkout.
 
However, once confirmed, the assistant will announce when your food is being prepared if the rider has picked it up, how far away they are, and when it has been delivered. It will also alert you to changes in the order status and “material change” in the estimated arrival time.
 
If you don’t want it chattering away every five minutes with a new update, the Echo can provide usual Uber Eats updates with flashing rings or a pop-up notification on the device.
 
Google Assistant and Siri have previously been able to take orders directly through the app, but Alexa is the first to be able to track its whereabouts. Unfortunately, it still can’t order your favorite pizza for you yet.
