Bremont’s Pilot Watch Is Built To Survive Being Ejected Out Of A Plane

The history of pilot watches dates back to 1911 when Cartier’s Santos timepiece took flight to aid aviators in their navigation and flying endeavors. Since then, these timepieces have become essential to the industry’s legacy.

Now, enter Bremont’s latest creation, a watch that pushes the limits of innovation. This exceptional timepiece, the MB Viper, has been fortified to withstand the unimaginable: being ejected out of a plane. To achieve such resilience, Bremont collaborated with Martin-Baker, the supplier of nearly 70% of the Western world’s fighter ejection seats.

Together, they subjected numerous prototypes to grueling and rigorous testing. Out of this demanding process emerged the remarkable MB Viper, a timepiece that underwent the same arduous trials as the fighter ejection seats.

These tests included live ejection, zoom temperature climbing, high altitude simulations, and more—all of which was conducted in the very same Mk18 seat found in an F-16 Viper aircraft. Hence, the timepiece was aptly named the MB Viper.

The watch boasts a sleek 43.5mm DLC Grade 5 titanium black carbon coating, complemented by vibrant orange aluminum bezels. Within its protective exterior lies a pristine white face featuring hands reminiscent of ejection pull handles. The white dial emphasizes the seconds while relegating the hours to the periphery for optimized legibility.

As a testament to its rarity, only 300 of these incredibly durable timepieces will be crafted. The MB Viper is set to retail at US$5,995.
