Samsung Lifts The Veil On What Goes On When You Send In Your Phone For Repairs

For many people, phones are an extension of themselves, so there might be some anxiety in parting with their broken mobile devices that need fixing.

Samsung’s new video reassures users that their gadgets are in safe hands. The footage showcases what exactly happens when customers select any of three of its Samsung Care options: walk-in, mail-in, and at-home repairs.

It’s a good time to mention that Samsung models are now built with a ‘Maintenance Mode’ that locks out your data from support staff, so there’s no worrying about your personal stuff being accessed when you send your phone out for servicing.

With the walk-in option, you pass your gadget over to a Samsung-verified repair technician, who will diagnose what’s bugging your phone and then fix it back together with certified parts. During this whole time, you’ll be able to watch your handset being restored to good health.

Mailed-in devices are treated like products in an assembly line, first undergoing a quality assessment, before heading to disassembly, repair, reassembly, and a final quality check. “We’ll even ship an eco-conscious empty box to package up the phone,” says Samsung. “Or you can create a repair request on Samsung.com, get a QR code, and bring your device to a UPS store for packing and shipping.”

Finally, the South Korean tech giant also sends out We Come To You vans to your home or business to handle your gadget at your most convenient location, much like how a house doctor pays a patient a visit at their home.
