Ken’s Skates From ‘Barbie’ Could Soon Be Gliding Into Your Collection

Yes, the Barbie movie isn’t out yet, but it is already spawning merchandise inspired by the film. In particular, Ken’s stunning neon yellow skates.
 
In the latest trailer, right at the tail end of it, Barbie asks him in an exasperated tone if he has his roller skates with him—presumably to accompany her on a date at the roller rink or down to the beach—and he says, completely serious, “I literally go nowhere without them.”

He then lifts up a highlighter-yellow pair punctuated with hot pink wheels and buckles. The skates are certainly very Barbie, and very Ken as well.

Australia-based Impala is now placing the soon-to-be iconic pair of skates onto the feet of Ken wannabes, with an almost identical pair to that seen in the trailer and some shots of Ryan Gosling (Ken) and Margot Robbie (Barbie) in Venice Beach, California, last year during filming.
 
Impala’s version comes in the same bright lemon-yellow with punchy pink accents, and this time, it also includes the Barbie branding. Fans can also purchase elbow and knee guards just like Gosling and Robbie were wearing.

The skates will be available on June 1, so you have a whole month to practice before zipping down to the movie theaters on June 21, when the film is released.
