No one does event invites like Apple, which has been doling out interactive Easter eggs hinting at upcoming products and services for years.

With WWDC 2023 just days away, it appears the Cupertino giant has just about confirmed what fans have been anticipating for a long time: the debut of its mixed-reality headset. The Apple logo is often depicted in a solid, metallic structure, but this special interpretation for the keynote sees the branding take on a shapeless form, as though existing between realities.

The abstract Easter egg imagines the Apple logo as a chromatic bubble of sorts that’s constantly morphing. You can view it shifting in your space by visiting the Apple Events page from your iPhone and selecting ‘View invite in AR’. Zooming into it with your fingers reveals the date of the event, which is June 5, 2023.

The augmented-reality vision might be one of Apple’s most beautiful invites yet, with one Twitter user even hailing it as “pure visual and audio poetry.”

The keynote’s tagline, “Code new worlds,” does seem to imply mixed-reality technology.

Mounting rumors point to an AR/VR headset, dubbed ‘Reality Pro’, that runs on a new operating system called ‘xrOS’. These speculations have been backed by new trademarks filed by a shell company.

The gear is said to be built with a triple display consisting of two micro OLED 4K screens and an AMOLED panel for low-res peripheral vision.

Apple enthusiasts can catch the keynote on Apple.com or via the Apple TV app on June 5 at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET).
