Capcom Builds Nostalgic 40th-Anniversary Site With Retro Games For Free Play

Having battled other goliaths for decades, Capcom is still standing like a champ even amid the growingly competitive gaming sphere. On June 11, it celebrated its 40th anniversary, further solidifying its presence in the industry.
As part of the festivities, on Monday, the company opened Capcom Town, a virtual “tourist destination” that characters and art styles in its multifaceted franchise, and even players, may call home.
When you pay a visit, you’ll be greeted by a colorful metropolis with sections and architecture that pay homage to favorites like Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, Ace Attorney, and Street Fighter.
One of the star attractions of Capcom Town is the Museum, which invites you to peruse an archive of over 500 pieces of original artwork, design files, as well as original music and videos.
Another must-visit is the Retro Games venue, where you can play retro titles from the NES and SNES era, including Mega Man and Street Fighter II, for free.
You could also peek inside the Merch Factory, where you’ll be able to download digital goodies like Twitter icons.
