In celebration of its 40th anniversary, apparel brand J.Crew partnered with experiential e-commerce company Obsess to create a virtual storefront. The trend of digital shopping has quickly caught on in recent months, with brands like Crocs and Dior trying it out.
This time, J.Crew’svirtual store is styled to resemble a beach house, including six themed rooms and a separate boathouse. As customers tour the home, they’ll get to browse the brand’s catalog of garments, shoes, and accessories, along with information on its storied history.
For those who are up for more fun, shoppers can try their hands at a catalog cover pop quiz and a scavenger hunt game within the futuristic experience. If anything catches one’s eye, they’ll be able to make the purchase on the spot, complete with a seamless checkout.
“This immersive experience brings J.Crew’s past and present together, giving our customers a virtual passport to explore the world of J Crew, while shopping a curated edit of summer styles in an innovative digital format,” said Derek Yarbrough, Chief Marketing Officer.
“Adoption of virtual stores is now reaching scale, and brands like J.Crew are seeing tremendous value in how these experiences are enabling them to connect with new audiences, foster customer engagement, drive sales, and create memorable digital touchpoints,” added Neha Singh, Founder, and CEO of Obsess.
