Instagram Now Lets You Download Public Reels For Offline Entertainment

Instagram is introducing a long-awaited feature that allows downloading of public Reels. The new update brings convenience and flexibility to content creators and viewers alike, as they can now save and enjoy short-form videos offline.
 
No matter where you are now, you can take all your favorite reels on the go, if you live in the US, that is. All you need to do is press the share icon and select the new Download option. Only Reels made with public accounts can be saved.

TikTok has a similar feature that users have been using for years now. Part of the app’s meteoric rise to fame in the social media sphere can be attributed to people watching its content on other platforms. These videos were also marked with a watermark, seen in random spots on videos.

Instagram is a popular place to watch these videos, especially after Reels was introduced. But whether this move encourages more coverage to its reels via cross-platform sharing is yet to be seen.
