Tesla Drivers Can Turn Sub-Trunks Into Portable Freezers With ‘TesFridge’

Ever thought about turning a car trunk into a freezer? Well, it’s now a reality, as renowned electric refrigerator brand AcoPower has come up with what it claims to be the world’s first portable freezer made specifically for Tesla sub-trunks.

Drivers of the Model 3, Model Y, and Model X can incorporate this cooler directly into their vehicles, comprising 20L (5.2 gallon), 35L (9.2 gallon), and 36L (9.5 gallon) capacities, respectively. Each freezer is designed to fit seamlessly into the sub-trunk it’s paired to.

There are myriad reasons why refrigeration may be handy on the go, not least having access to ice-cold drinks anytime. According to Notebook Check, a 20L freezer will fit an estimated 27 cans of drinks or 16 bottles—more than enough to fuel drivers and passengers for a long-haul trip.

The temperature of the cooler can be adjusted to between -4°F to 50°F, with food and drink cooled down in just half an hour. Externally, the freezer boasts a 1.77-inch-thick wall for greater insulation and a hollow design to speed up heat dissipation.

To power up the cooler, drivers simply have to connect it via the built-in socket in a Model Y car or through the cigarette lighter in the Model 3 and Model X. Each set comes with an integrated LED display to adjust the controls, which can also be accessed via an accompanying mobile app.
