Razer Unveils Its First In-Ear Monitors For Gamers & ‘Marathon Streamers’

The right audio devices are essential in the gaming industry, especially if someone is making a living off of streaming or making videos. Microphones, headphones, soundboards, and the lot can heavily influence how one’s content, or even a simple call with some friends while playing a game, can affect the quality of a session.
 
In-ear monitors (IEMs) have more or less stayed within the realm of music performances. Artists usually don a pair before going out on stage so that they can eliminate the noise of the crowd and focus on the music playing; they also sometimes get fed lines through the earpiece from someone backstage.

With that, the device hasn’t exactly crossed over to the gaming sphere until now. Razer’s first IEMs, the ‘Moray’, are here to aid gamers and “marathon streamers.”

The Moray is a wired gadget with THX-certified dual-driver earpieces that amp up treble and deep bass and reduce passive noise by up to -36dB, with distortion-free listening and noise isolation.

Its ergonomic shape wraps snugly around a user’s ears and doesn’t come with the same pressure on the head as a set of headphones might. Packaged with the IEMs are ear tips, so each individual can find one that fits them perfectly.

The device doesn’t have a microphone built into it as it seeks to prioritize comfort and allow users to wear it longer. So, if you intend to stream yourself, you might need to pick up a secondary mic.
