Those using Microsoft’s Bing search engine or the Edge web browser will be able to enjoy their own personal shopping assistant in the form of the technology giant’s latest artificial intelligence (AI) tool.
The firm recentlyannounced it would be adding AI-powered buying guides, review summaries, and automated price-matching information to its search results, cutting down the time needed for users to compare costs and comments on various sites.
To put it simply, these buying guides will differ from the regular advertising pop-ups often found on web pages. Instead of just promoting a particular product, these summaries will highlight relevant products based on one’s searches using information gathered across the internet.
According to the company, US shoppers can save an average of US$400 annually with the feature, making it easier to discover, research, and complete the purchase of any item one may be looking for—all in one place.
For example, if an individual wants to buy a pair of noise-canceling headphones, they can count on Bing Chat to suggest different aspects to consider when shopping for the gadget, such as sound quality, fit, and device compatibility.
Once they’ve narrowed down a couple of options, Bing Chat can then summarize what people online are saying about the device while providing a quick overview of popular opinions about the particular product.
That’s not all. The tool will help by finding the best price and time to buy the product so users get the best deal possible, while Edge automatically applies coupons and cashback discounts without users having to lift a finger.
Last but not least, Package Tracking allows customers to stay informed on their shipments right from the browser’s sidebar, so there’s no longer a need to search through the tons of emails in an inbox for an order confirmation or delivery number.
