Hublot’s First Central Tourbillon Is A Takashi Murakami Flower Made Out Of Gems

Luxury watchmaker Hublot is continuing its streak of special drops with world-renowned artists. This time, it has teamed up with acclaimed artist Takashi Murakami, known for his vibrant and iconic smiling rainbow flowers. Their latest collaboration has resulted in the creation of the Hublot MP-15 Takashi Murakami Tourbillon Only Watch.
 
It’s a one-of-a-kind creation designed specifically for the charity auction organized by Only Watch. True to Murakami’s distinctive style, the watch features his recognizable smiling flower motif, brought to life through meticulous craftsmanship.

The MP-15 Only Watch blends the realm of horology and jewelry, adorned with a stunning display of 444 gemstones arranged in a gradient, meticulously following Murakami’s measurements to form 12 flower petals.

Notably, this timepiece showcases Hublot’s first-ever central tourbillon, a technical feat that posed challenges in integrating the aesthetic components without compromising functionality. This is housed under a sapphire dome with the face of the flower cast into it.

Accompanying the watch is a calligraphic artwork personally created by Murakami. Reflecting on his artistic versatility, he returned to calligraphy, using his used coffee filter paper as a canvas for the Time of Rainbow piece. Both will be sold at the Only Watch auction, where proceeds from the sale of this unique creation will contribute to supporting children battling muscular dystrophy.
