Porsche 934/5 Has Modern Refurbishment That Also Looks To Race Cars From The 70s
Singer, a vehicle design house renowned for its restorations and reimaginations of classic Porsche 911s, is back with a new take on the Porsche 934/5 under its Dynamics & Lightweighting Study–Turbo (DLS-T).
Inspired by iconic Le Mans racers, this exclusive car combines the best elements from Singer’s previous Porsche transformations and elevates them to new heights. The project usually starts with a Type 964 Porsche 911 from the 1990s. From there comes a DLS Turbo limited-edition series that pays homage to endurance racers in the 1970s.
It comes in two versions, the Blood Orange vehicle made specifically for the track and the Moet Blanc road car. Both take on a retro boxy shape with large carbon defers and rear window air intakes that aid a one-gallon turbocharged flat-six engine, which is housed in the back of the vehicle.
On the backs of both are a two-deck wing, which helps with aerodynamics and is reminiscent of the Le Mans prototypes.
The interiors take on the styling elements of the 1960s and 1980s Porsche vehicles with a fabric steering wheel, analog dashboard, and a retro-looking gear shift.
Singer has equipped the refurbished cars with a 700bhp engine, advanced suspension, and downforce to harness as much speed as possible.
With only 99 units available, Singer’s DLS-T is bound to shift into high gear, leaving enthusiasts racing to secure their piece of automotive nostalgia.
