LEGO Puts You In Driver’s Seat To Build A 1,210-Piece 1961 Chevrolet Corvette

Owning a Chevrolet Corvette might be a pipe dream for some, a reality for others, and in other instances, it’s as easy as picking up LEGO’s latest set.
 
The brick-building company has just released a new kit that lets you build one of America’s most iconic sports cars in your living room. According to Robb Report, the 1961 version was a collaboration between LEGO and designer Harley Earl. The results were a fiery red model that captured the essence of the Corvette’s post-World War II sports car era. 

The model is made for adults and includes 1,210 pieces. It stands four inches tall, six inches wide, and 13 inches deep—just a tad smaller than the real thing. Well, a whole lot smaller, actually. But instead of being kept in your garage, this one can sit proudly on your bookcase or desk.
 
Although this might be a toy version of the real deal, plenty of elements still make it feel like you own the actual thing. This includes the ability to pop open the hood and trunk. Its engine also contains a radiator fan and tie-rod steering.

Inside, you will find a gear shift, radio, classic Chevy steering wheel, speedometers for racing around your home, a brake, clutch, and pedals. You can also build it as a convertible or close it up with a roof.
 
The kit will be ready for purchase on August 4 for US$149.
