Mini Flat-Packed ‘Howl’s Moving Castle’ Lets You Rebuild Fantasy At Your Desk

While Howl and Sophie might have been the main characters of Studio Ghibli’s Howl’s Moving Castle, arguably, so is the moving castle Howl lives in.
 
The giant steampunk-looking abode traverses the world like a live creature and is powered up by Calcifer, the friendly fire in the heart of the structure. It is a tall, off-kilter whimsical castle with four towers, three doors, chimneys, feet, eyes, and a mouth. 

The magical home can now be your very own, albeit a shrunken-down version, that is, to stand guard on your desk as a pen holder thanks to Studio Ghibli’s Donguri Kyowakoku chain of merchandise stores.
 
The ‘Howl’s Moving Castle ‘ki-gu-mi’ Howl’s Castle Color Ver.’ is technically a flat-pack wooden puzzle you can assemble without glue or cutters. As far as penholders go, not only is this one pretty striking, but it’s nifty as well.

You can feed it paper clips in one of its slots and then use one of the dome heads to dispense it out of the mouth. For storing pens, you can use one of the many chimneys, and you can hang your rubber bands off its eaves and slot your business cards into its serrated roofs. It stands at 5.7 inches and 7.7 inches wide and weighs 7 ounces.
