Home Depot Resuscitates Its Famous 12-Foot Skeleton… With A Disney Version

Home Depot has just kicked some new skeletons out of its closet. For years, the home improvement retailer has drawn horror enthusiasts and spooked passersby of suburbs with its 12-foot skeleton.
This year, coinciding with Disney’s 100th anniversary, the store is reviving its Halloween star once again—but this time, it’s bringing a familiar friend. 2023’s lineup includes a model of Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Notably, the Tim Burton franchise’s 30th birthday is also creeping around the corner.

Skelly’s Disney-fied counterpart is a touch taller than the original, standing about 13 feet tall. And while the original has eerie light-up eyes, the latter does it one better: It’s an animatronic, with a mouth and jaw that move along with the character’s theme song, Jack’s Lament, says CNET. Also, he dances.

Accordingly, Jack Skelly has a detachable head for fans to depict him in different moods, welcoming some guests and scaring others away.
Home Depot’s lanky Jack Skellington prop will be summoned into stores at the end of August for US$399, though it’s available online now. Meanwhile, the original still stands at a price of US$299.
