PlayStation Wants You To Play With Food With Pasta In The Shape Of Buttons
It’s unfair that children get all the fun when it comes to pasta shapes. To change this, Sony PlayStation has teamed up with Pasta Garofalo to release a special-edition pasta in the shape of the console’s iconic controller buttons.
Meals could be more fun when carbonara, alfredo, or bolognese comes served with triangles, circles, squares, and crosses. Hungry? It’s now available for purchase at UK-based online grocer Ocado for £2.60 (US$3.40), with each packet meant for 12 servings.
The first-ever PlayStation controller was released in 1994 alongside the original console. It was designed by Teiyu Goto, who wanted to emulate Nintendo’s console and didn’t want to create a “radical departure” from what gamers were familiar with.
Since then, as per IGN, the four buttons have remained consistent. The blue cross and red circle represent “yes” and “no” options, respectively, while the triangle means “point of view,” and the square is akin to a piece of paper that would allow players to access in-game menus.
