In a recent announcement, Canoo Technologies revealed it successfully delivered three Crew Transportation Vehicles (CTVs) to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, marking an important step in preparing for the upcoming Artemis lunar missions.

Each zero-emission vehicle can ferry four astronauts in their spacesuits, support personnel, including a spacesuit technician, and still have enough room for specialized equipment for the drive to the launch pad.

Designed to accommodate fully-suited astronauts and meet NASA’s rigorous specifications, the CTVs are a crucial part of ensuring safe and efficient crew transportation. Canoo plans to unveil images showcasing the interior and exterior of the vehicles later this year, offering a closer look at their advanced features.

In a tribute to NASA’s rich history of space exploration, the CTVs have been meticulously customized to reflect the agency’s iconic legacy. The design choices were influenced by valuable input from NASA’s Astronaut Office and the Artemis launch director, ensuring that the vehicles align with the needs and requirements of the mission.

Replacing the earlier Astrovans utilized during the Apollo and Space Shuttle Programs, the CTVs represent a significant advancement in transportation technology for NASA.
