NSFW: Kellogg’s Bear Naked Wants You To Bare Your All On Nude Hiking Trails NSFW
Bear Naked invites customers to enjoy exploring as nature intended, au naturel. Yes, that includes stripping down to your barest of forms and hiking outdoors—if that’s something you’re into.
Nudism, whether you believe in it or not, is a practice that many people participate in as part of a belief that the human body should connect with nature as it is. And to facilitate this connection, Kellogg’s Bear Naked granola treats are using the Gaia GPS app to determine which out of over 300 trails in the US are nude-friendly or not, in celebration of National Nude Day in the US this past July 14.
The GPS aims to lend the nudist community a helping hand in finding safe trails for them to trek through over the summer. However, Bear Naked does include a disclaimer that it “does not encourage or make any claims about the legality of hiking naked and is not responsible for naked injuries or complaints.” It adds, “You are responsible for complying with laws, rules, and guidelines in the area where you’re hiking.”
Basically, now that you’re completely exposed to the elements, it seems like Bear Naked is letting nature take its course. So if you get bitten by bugs, injured due to lack of protective gear, develop a rash from poison oak, or come across an angry mob of clothed hikers, it will not be held responsible.
Do with that as you will, but as on any hike, you should take precautions to ensure your safety anyway.
And for all the enthusiastically buff hikers out there looking to keep their energies up under the sweltering sun, Bear Naked has devised a belt to which you can attach your bag of granola right over your private bits—if you’re not ready to bare your all just yet or if you come across other hikers along the way—for US$23.07.
“Every year, hikers across the country embark on these hikes to get as close to nature as possible,” explained Sadie Garcia, senior director of brand marketing at Bear Naked. “Connecting with nature is at the core of our company, and to help them along the way, we want to make sure they know which trails are friendly and that they have something to bring along their favorite trail snack.”
