Last month, Apple appointed its first principal design consultant, Samuel Ross. Ross is a British fashion and product designer, and he’s most known for starting the streetwear label A-COLD-WALL.
Ross’s debut creation with Beats draws inspiration from the iconic Studio3 model. This new Beats Studio Pro Wireless Headphones boasts subtle improvements that elevate the listening experience.
One of the more noticeable changes is that the metallic hardware that adorned the previous Studio3 model has been left behind. Ross’s vision creates a sleek and minimalist design where less is more. Even the headband’s once prominent Beats logo has been removed.
Available in an array of classic colors like black, deep brown, navy, and sandstone, the Studio Pro appeals to a broad audience with its minimalistic aesthetics.
Peering beneath the surface, the Studio Pro is packed with many innovative features. These include fully-adaptive noise cancellation, transparency modes, and personalized spatial audio with dynamic head tracking.
The Studio Pro offers 40 hours of battery life for those on the move, ensuring uninterrupted entertainment. And comfort isn’t compromised either, as Ross has implemented ear cushions with engineered leather for a plush feel, complemented by premium metal sliders for an adjustable and durable fit.
Beyond the headphones themselves, Ross’s commitment to sustainability shines through with the Studio Pro’s packaging. The packaging has been crafted using recycled paper, giving it a mottled-gray appearance that reflects its eco-consciousness.
According to Fast Company, the effort invested in creating this environmentally-friendly packaging surpassed the cost of the headphones themselves. Still, it signifies a step forward into the realm of sustainable packaging practices.
The Studio Pros are now available online for US$349.99.
