Rare, Official Apple Inc. Sneakers Go On Sale For $50K

In the mid-1990s, Apple held a conference for its employees, during which the sneakers were part of a giveaway for those attending. The shoes never made it to the public, but could now be yours—if you have a spare US$50,000 lying around.
 
Sotheby’s previously acquired the shoes and are now selling them off. The kicks were made specially by sporting goods retailer Omega Sports. It’s a pair of size 10.5 retro chunky all-white sneakers, with the only splash of color being the rainbow Apple logo that the company used between 1977 and 1998.

The kicks debuted at the National Sales Conference and since then have not been seen, which is a shame as they do look pretty fly, especially now as fashion trends turn to 90s nostalgia. One could see these hitting off with sneaker and tech fanatics.
 
Unfortunately, this limited-edition footwear won’t appear on the feet of just about anyone, and for that price, it probably won’t be accompanying their potential buyer on errand runs, either.

The shoes have been kept in mint condition with slight yellowing from age, but other than that, it looks like they might have just exited the conference room yesterday. According to Sotheby’s website, the sneakers come in their original box alongside a pair of red laces.
