LG Unveils Futuristic Dual-Chamber Coffee Maker Inspired By NASA’s Apollo 11
If brewing coffee from a single pod doesn’t cut it anymore, a new innovation from South Korea’s LG Labs has the answer. And, of course, coming from the division of the electronics giant known for quirky releases, including a briefcase television set, this isn’t just an everyday coffee maker.
Inspired by NASA’s Apollo 11 mission, the futuristic ‘Duobo’ stands out from regular home appliances with its two chambers for coffee pods, placed within a specially-designed machine that looks akin to the lunar lander used on the Moon.
With this design, coffee aficionados can combine two Nespresso-sized pods for a customized blend. In addition, for those really particular about the brew, the machine comes with a base plate CPU that allows users to personalize temperatures and extraction volumes for each chamber.
In addition, there’s even a timed brew setting that allows the coffee maker to be set to automatically make a cup of coffee at a specific time of the day. The wait won’t be a bore either, considering the 10.1-inch HD resolution display at the bottom of the machine will screen customizable content while the drink’s being made.
The machine’s features don’t end there. Through an accompanying application, users can adjust the height of the lunar lander’s legs so the machine fits exactly to one’s specific mug. In the future, LG Labs is planning on adding a community section that will allow users to share recipes.
