Microsoft Bing Chat Is Coming To Chrome, Safari—But With Certain Limitations

Been wanting to try out Bing Chat but don’t want to switch over to Microsoft Edge?

Soon, users will be able to access the OpenAI-powered chatbot on Chrome, Safari, and other browsers as the technology giant expands its capabilities to more people across the globe.

While the move has yet to be officially announced, Microsoft confirmed to TechCrunch that select users have been granted access to Bing Chat in Safari and Chrome as part of a testing process.

Caitlin Roulston, Microsoft’s director of communications, explained that the expansion will roll out to more users on these browsers once testing has been completed.

To access Bing Chat, users can head to bing.com on their preferred browser before clicking on the “chat” icon to fire up the artificial intelligence software. However, this will not be available to everyone at the moment.

In addition, WindowsLatest.com reported that Bing Chat in the Chrome browser only supports five messages per conversation, a stark drop compared to the 30 in Edge.

There’s also a limit to the character count, with users only given 2,000 on non-Microsoft browsers compared to the 3,000 characters supported on its own service.
